This Privacy Policy explains how Chase Douglas ("I", "me", or "my") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit chase-douglas.com (the "Site"), subscribe to my emails, purchase a course or digital product, or book a consulting call. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Chase Douglas operates this Site as a sole proprietor and is the controller of the personal information collected through it. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact me at info@chase-douglas.com.
2. Information I collect
Information you give me directly
- Contact details such as your name and email address when you download a free resource, join a waitlist, subscribe to my newsletter, or send me a message.
- Account details such as your name, email address, and password when you create an account to access a course or other purchased content.
- Purchase details such as what you bought, when, and for how much. Payment card details are collected and processed by Stripe, not by me. I never see or store your full card number.
- Consulting details such as information about your organization, your goals, and your marketing that you share when booking or attending a call.
- Course activity such as lessons completed, quiz answers, and files you download, so your progress can be saved.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data such as pages viewed, referring site, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser type, and device type.
- Cookies and similar technologies used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Site is used. See section 6.
3. How I use your information
- To deliver what you asked for: free resources, newsletter emails, course access, downloads, and consulting sessions.
- To process payments, manage subscriptions, and send receipts and account notices.
- To respond to your questions and provide support.
- To send marketing emails about new videos, courses, and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
- To understand how the Site is used so I can improve it.
- To protect the Site, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, I rely on the performance of a contract with you, your consent (for marketing emails and non-essential cookies), and my legitimate interests in running and improving the Site.
4. Payments
All payments are processed by Stripe. When you check out, you provide your payment details directly to Stripe, whose use of your information is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy. I receive confirmation of your purchase, your name, email address, billing country, and the last four digits of your card so I can provide support and manage your access.
5. Third-party services
I use a small number of trusted service providers to run the Site. They only receive the information needed to perform their service for me:
- Stripe for payments and subscription billing.
- YouTube for embedded videos. When you play an embedded video, YouTube may set cookies and collect data under the Google Privacy Policy.
- Email delivery providers to send newsletters, receipts, and account emails.
- Scheduling tools to book consulting calls.
- Web hosting, database, and font providers to serve the Site and store account and course data.
- Analytics providers to measure Site traffic in aggregate.
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
6. Cookies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for three purposes: essential cookies that keep you signed in and make the Site work, preference cookies that remember settings like a collapsed menu, and analytics cookies that help me understand traffic. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from signing in or accessing purchased content.
7. How long I keep your information
I keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes above. Account and purchase records are kept while your account is active and for as long as required for tax, accounting, and legal purposes. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form. You can ask me to delete your account and associated data at any time (see section 9).
8. Security
I use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls on the systems that store your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security, but I will notify you if I become aware of a breach that affects your information as required by law.
9. Your rights and choices
- Marketing emails: unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email. You will still receive transactional emails such as receipts and account notices.
- Access, correction, and deletion: you may request a copy of the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it.
- Objection and restriction: you may object to or ask me to restrict certain processing of your information.
- Portability: you may ask for your information in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@chase-douglas.com. I will respond within 30 days. I may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have the rights described above under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and I do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under that law.
10. Children
The Site and my products are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 16. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided me with personal information, contact me and I will delete it.
11. International visitors
I am based in Texas, United States, and the Site is hosted in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I will change the effective date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, I will also let you know by email or with a notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
